Extreme heat, heat wave

  • Between August 11 and 13, Météo France issued an orange heat wave alert for six departments in the region (Côte d’Or, Doubs, Nièvre, Yonne, Jura, and Saône-et-Loire). The rest of the region was under a yellow alert. The heat wave alert was lifted on August 14 in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.

  • Activity related to heat-related illnesses increased in August (Figures 3 and 4). From August 11 to 13, 2024, the average number of emergency room visits was 21, compared to an average of nearly 13 visits between 2019 and 2023.

COVID-19

  • Indicators are at a low level in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
