Key points

Bronchiolitis

  • SOS Médecins activity has decreased, with 6 cases out of 245 visits (2.4% in S08 vs. 4.7% in S-1).

  • Bronchiolitis-related activity in emergency departments has decreased following the rebound observed in S07 (6.6% in S08 vs. 9.1% in S-1).

Influenza

  • Decline in the epidemic

  • Influenza-related activity has decreased significantly in S08 for SOS Médecins (10.2% vs. 15.1% in S-1) and in emergency departments (1.7% of visits vs. 2.7% in S-1).

  • In the region’s medical-social facilities, 40 clusters of influenza cases have been reported since Week 51.

  • Since November 2023, 41 severe cases of influenza admitted to intensive care (36 influenza A, including 2 A(H1N1), 2 influenza B, and 3 unspecified) have been reported.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Activity at SOS Médecins clinics for acute gastroenteritis is stable, accounting for 5.7% of visits in Week 08 (vs. 5.2% in Week 1).

  • Emergency department activity for acute gastroenteritis is stable and moderate, with a visit rate of 1.5% in S08 (vs. 1.4% in S-1).

COVID-19

  • Low activity

  • Confirmed case rate of 3.7 per 100,000 inhabitants in S08.

  • The JN.1 variant is predominant.

  • Activity for suspected COVID-19 is low for SOS Médecins (<0.5%) and in emergency departments (<0.2%). In S08, all visits resulted in hospitalization among those aged 65 and older (low numbers).

  • In the region’s long-term care facilities, very few clusters of COVID-19 cases have been reported since the beginning of the year (between 1 and 4 per week).

  • Since October 2023, 52 severe cases of COVID-19 admitted to intensive care have been reported.
