Key Points

COVID-19

  • Decrease in the incidence rate (IR), testing rate (TR), and positivity rate (PR). The regional (unadjusted) IR fell from 698.1 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 29 to 426.3 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 30. IRs are declining in all four departments. Decrease in hospitalizations in general and critical care, as well as in visits to emergency rooms and SOS Médecins. Estimated vaccination coverage by place of residence reaches 83.0% for one dose and 82.3% for a full course.

Extreme heat, heat wave

  • A heat wave swept across France from July 10 to July 26, with extreme heat peaking on July 18.

  • All departments in Brittany have been under a green heatwave alert since July 19.

  • There was a decrease in visits to emergency rooms and calls to SOS Médecins for heat-related illnesses in week 30 following the end of the heatwave in week 29.
