Key Points

  • Continued increase in vaccination rates among infants born on or after January 1, 2018, to whom the expanded vaccination requirement applies:

    • + 3.1 percentage points for the use of the hexavalent vaccine between 2018 and 2020

    • +0.3 percentage points in vaccination coverage for the first dose of the pneumococcal vaccine between 2018 and 2020

    • + 11.4 percentage points in vaccination coverage for the first dose of the meningococcal C vaccine between 2018 and 2020

  • Increase in vaccination coverage among children born before the law took effect

    • + 6.4 percentage points for the full HPV vaccination series among 16-year-old girls born in 2004 (42.6%) compared to girls born in 2003 (36.2%)

    • Increase in catch-up vaccination coverage for meningococcal C in all age groups

  • Increase in influenza vaccination coverage

    • +9.5 percentage points among those aged 65 and older between 2020 and 2019.
