Key Points

Flu

  • OSCOUR®: The number of emergency room visits for flu-like symptoms, across all age groups, remained stable in week 42 of 2023 compared to the previous week. Activity levels remain low and are similar to those observed last year.

  • SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for flu-like illness, across all age groups, has been decreasing in week 42-2023 for the past two weeks. In week 42-2023, the flu activity rate is 3.4%, which is higher than rates observed during the same period in the two previous years.

Bronchiolitis

  • OSCOUR®: In week 42-2023, the proportion of activity related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age in emergency departments increased compared to the previous week. It stands at 6.3%, representing 86 visits. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is 12.9%.

  • SOS Médecins: In week 42 of 2023, the proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins related to bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age increased compared to the previous week. It stands at 6.1%, representing 33 consultations.

COVID-19

  • OSCOUR®: In week 42-2023, the number of emergency department visits for COVID-19 decreased slightly (305 visits compared to 344 in week 41-2023), representing 1.2% of total activity.

  • SOS Médecins: In week 42-2023, the number of SOS Médecins consultations for COVID-19 stabilized (217 consultations compared to 204 in week 41-2023), representing 3% of the activity of SOS Médecins associations in the region.

Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika

  • From May 1 to October 24, 2023, 60 cases of dengue and 1 case of chikungunya were confirmed in the Grand Est region.
