  • The number of diagnoses of influenza and flu-like illnesses has remained high since Christmas week for emergency departments in Lorraine and the SOS Médecins Meurthe-et-Moselle association. This season, the flu arrived earlier than during the 2011-2012 winter season.

  • In France, the flu epidemic threshold was exceeded in week 52, and the epidemic continues. According to data from the hospital laboratory network (RENAL) and the Grog Network, the flu viruses circulating this year are type A and type B.

  • Since week 02, the number of diagnoses of bronchiolitis and bronchitis among children under 2 years of age has been decreasing in Lorraine. The same trend is observed in mainland France.

  • In France, the gastroenteritis outbreak has continued for the fourth consecutive week. Since the Christmas holidays, the number of gastroenteritis and diarrhea diagnoses reported by the SOS Médecins Meurthe-et-Moselle association remains high.
