Dengue in French Guiana. Update as of December 21, 2023.

Key Points

Over the past two weeks, the circulation of the virus has increased in French Guiana. The increase was mainly observed on the island of Cayenne but also in the Savanes region. This increase is also evident in hospitals, where the number of emergency room visits is rising, particularly at the CHC. In the west, the trend remained stable, but circulation remained at a high level. On the Maroni River, the outbreak in Grand-Santi remains active, and cases are also being detected in other municipalities. The DEN-3 serotype predominates, except on the island of Cayenne, where the DEN-2 serotype is circulating at equivalent levels.
