Epidemiological Situation of Dengue Fever in French Guiana. Update as of October 15, 2012

During the last week of September and the first week of October, the number of clinically suspected dengue cases increased, reaching levels slightly above the expected peak. This increase is linked to the specific situation in the city of Kourou and to the rise in the number of cases in western French Guiana.During this period, the number of cases was estimated at 446, including 120 in the Kourou area.
