The region experienced a heat wave during the summer of 2025. The heat’s impact on health resulted in 557 heat-related deaths over the course of the summer. In addition, there were 2,371 emergency room visits (1,478 of which led to hospitalization) and 324 SOS Médecins calls for iCanicule.
