  • Between 2021 and 2023, the standardized incidence rate of patients hospitalized for ischemic heart disease in Île-de-France was lower than that of France as a whole (403 vs. 459 per 100,000 inhabitants in France), with an average of 31,586 patients hospitalized per year in the region. The standardized prevalence in 2022 was 5.3% in the region, comparable to that of France (5.5%). The standardized mortality rate (2020–2022) was slightly lower in the region (49 per 100,000 inhabitants) compared to the national rate.

  • Between 2021 and 2023, the standardized incidence rate of patients hospitalized for heart failure in Île-de-France was similar to that of France (355 vs. 344 per 100,000 inhabitants), with an average of 25,866 patients hospitalized annually in the region. The standardized prevalence was 2.5% in 2022 in the region, equal to that of France as a whole (2.5%). The standardized mortality rate (2020–2022), however, was significantly lower in the region compared to France (30 vs. 46 per 100,000 inhabitants, respectively).

  • Between 2021 and 2023, the standardized incidence rate of patients hospitalized for stroke in Île-de-France was comparable to that recorded for France as a whole (227 vs. 231 per 100,000 inhabitants, respectively), with an average of 17,484 patients hospitalized per year in the region. The standardized prevalence in 2022 was 2.0% in the region, comparable to the national prevalence (2.0%). The standardized mortality rate in the region (47 per 100,000 inhabitants) was lower than that of France.

  • At the subregional level, several departments in the region had higher incidence rates (notably Seine-Saint-Denis, but also Val-d’Oise and Seine-et-Marne), with some heterogeneity also observed at the subdepartmental level.
