Key points

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic level: Bronchiolitis activity levels were down in week 50 and continued to remain at a level comparable to last season. The Île-de-France region is on epidemic alert for the eighth week.

Influenza and influenza-like illness

  • Healthcare activity related to flu-like illnesses continued to rise, both in hospitals and in community settings. The under-15 age group remained the one with the sharpest increase in the number of healthcare visits for flu-like illnesses, accounting for nearly 60% of emergency room visits in this age group. The number of hospitalizations following visits to the emergency room also increased. The epidemic intensity level, based on healthcare activity, rose to a moderate level, both in outpatient settings and in hospitals.

  • The Île-de-France region was on epidemic alert for the third consecutive week.

COVID-19

  • SOS Médecins: The number of cases involving suspected COVID-19 increased across all age groups. Numbers remained low among those aged 65 and older.

  • Emergency room visits: The number of emergency room visits for suspected COVID-19 decreased among those under 15, increased among those aged 15–64, and remained stable among those aged 65 and older. Case numbers remained low.

  • SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater: In S50, the overall upward trend in SARS-CoV-2 circulation levels in wastewater in Île-de-France continued. All monitored stations had interpretable results.
