Health Monitoring in the Île-de-France Region. Update as of October 25, 2023.

Key points

Chikungunya, dengue, Zika

  • Since the start of enhanced surveillance in the region, 479 cases of arboviral diseases have been identified (394 confirmed cases and 85 probable cases), including 474 imported cases, 3 confirmed autochthonous cases of dengue, 1 case possibly acquired in Île-de-France, and 1 case for which investigation is impossible (Table 1 and Figure 8). There have been 79 reported hospitalizations for dengue, including 2 deaths, and 2 hospitalizations for chikungunya.

COVID-19

  • COVID-19 surveillance based on emergency department visit data (SOS Médecins & Oscour®): decrease in all indicators.

  • Virological surveillance (Néo-SIDEP): decrease in infection cases (SARS-CoV-2-positive samples by RT-PCR and antigen tests) in week 42 compared to the previous week. The testing rate is 115 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Bronchiolitis

  • Indicators on the rise among SOS Médecins associations and in hospital emergency departments, with:

    • In hospital emergency departments: a more pronounced increase in all indicators in week 42

    • At SOS Médecins, indicators rose more slowly in week 42, exclusively among children aged 12 to 24 months.

  • The detection rate of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) in Île-de-France is 9.7% in hospitals in week 42 versus 4.4% in week 41.

  • Third week of the bronchiolitis epidemic in Île-de-France

Flu

  • Decrease in indicators at SOS Médecins clinics for all age groups

  • Indicators stable in hospital emergency departments, low number of hospitalizations

  • Incidence of acute respiratory infections stable according to data from the Sentinelles network

Gastroenteritis

  • Indicators stable across all data sources and for all age groups compared to the previous week’s data

  • Low activity levels in SOS Médecins clinics and hospital emergency departments
