The Nouvelle-Aquitaine region experienced a heat wave during the summer of 2024. The heat’s impact on health resulted in 363 heat-related deaths over the course of the summer. In addition, there were 1,906 emergency room visits (1,353 of which resulted in hospitalization) and 320 SOS Médecins calls related to the heatwave.
