Five episodes of local chikungunya transmission identified in the region as of August 27, 2025: Landes (1 case), Pyrénées-Atlantiques (3 cases), Charente (14 cases), Dordogne (30 cases), and Gironde (1 case);
One episode of local dengue transmission identified in Gironde (3 cases detected as of August 27, 2025);
Investigations, management, and prevention measures are underway.
Summary of imported cases
From May 1 to August 26, 2025, 144 imported cases of chikungunya and 106 imported cases of dengue identified as probable or confirmed, and no imported cases of Zika;
Most of these individuals were returning from a trip to French overseas territories.
