Perpignan: Health Workshops for the Romani Community.

To promote the health of a Roma community living in extreme poverty in Perpignan, professionals went door-to-door to "recruit" women and work with them to develop a program tailored to their needs. An evaluation of the program—which included health and wellness workshops, literacy classes, and more—demonstrates its positive impact, thanks in particular to the work of a “health facilitator” in the neighborhood. One key area for improvement remains the community’s openness to the outside world.
