Seasonal Update
From May 1 to November 30 each year, Santé publique France coordinates, in collaboration with the relevant Regional Health Agencies (ARS), enhanced seasonal surveillance of chikungunya, dengue, and Zika in metropolitan departments colonized by the vector mosquito, Aedes albopictus.
In Occitanie, since May 1, 2020, 131 imported cases of dengue have been confirmed. No cases of chikungunya or Zika have been identified.
Nationwide, from May 1 to November 30, 2020, the following were confirmed:
866 imported cases of dengue (of which 64% had visited Martinique and 23% Guadeloupe)
6 imported cases of chikungunya
1 imported case of Zika
Six dengue outbreaks (including three in Occitanie) were identified in 2020.
