Key Facts

In Occitanie, since May 1, 2019, 102 cases have been confirmed
:- 92 imported cases (i.e., travelers returning from areas where the virus is circulating) of dengue (26% of which were travelers returning from Réunion Island), 2 of Zika, and 8 of chikungunya have been confirmed;
- 0 confirmed local cases.

Nationwide, from May 1 to September 20, 2019
:- 465 imported cases (i.e., returning from areas where the virus is circulating) of dengue (17% of which were returning from Réunion Island), 43 cases of chikungunya, and 4 cases of Zika
; - 1 locally acquired case of dengue.

A dengue epidemic is currently underway on Reunion Island, with more than 18,045 cases of dengue (biologically confirmed or probable) reported between the beginning of 2019 and September 3, 2019. The number of confirmed cases continues to decline, a trend that began in mid-May.
