Dengue Situation in Réunion. Epidemiological Update as of April 27, 2012.

Summary of the Epidemiological Situation

Over the past week, a new probable case of dengue was reported in the western part of the island, and one case was confirmed in the south. A total of 12 locally acquired cases have been identified, including 6 confirmed cases. Viral circulation is likely to intensify because the population’s immunity level is very low and the current conditions are particularly favorable for the vector.

Alert Level 2B remains in effect: "Identification of several geographically distinct clusters of locally acquired cases."
