Dengue Situation in Réunion. Epidemiological Update as of September 7, 2012

Epidemiological Situation

During the month of August, only one new case of dengue fever dating back to June was detected. A previous probable case was also confirmed following a second round of laboratory testing. The most recent case detected therefore dates back to early July, and no cases have occurred in the past seven weeks (Figure 1). In total, 31 cases of locally acquired dengue have been identified since the beginning of the year, including 12 confirmed and 19 probable cases.
