Dengue Surveillance in Réunion. Update as of March 3, 2022.

Key points

  • Reunion is still in the inter-epidemic period for dengue, with fewer weekly reported cases than in previous years.

  • Initial results indicate circulation of the DENV-1 serotype (as in 2021).

  • To best identify cases before an epidemic begins, it is recommended to seek medical attention at the first signs and to confirm clinical suspicions through laboratory testing (with PCR being the gold standard).
