In 2024, in the Pays de la Loire region:

  • The tiger mosquito will be present in all departments of the Pays de la Loire region.

  • The number of municipalities colonized by the tiger mosquito will quadruple between 2022 and 2024 (rising from 11 to 43).

  • Nearly 1.2 million people exposed to the tiger mosquito in 2024 (representing 32% of the regional population).

  • 108 imported cases (107 cases of dengue and 1 case of chikungunya) reported during the enhanced surveillance period (May 1 to November 30, 2024).

  • Travel to Martinique or Guadeloupe for more than 57% of imported dengue cases.

  • No indigenous cases detected in the Pays de la Loire region.

  • A very large majority of cases (91%) were viremic in the Pays de la Loire region.
