COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Pays de la Loire Region as of April 9, 2020

Key indicators

Individual Monitoring

  • As of April 9, 2020 (2:00 p.m.), 1,726 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported by hospital and private laboratories to the ARS Pays de la Loire since the start of the outbreak

Community-based surveillance

  • SOS Médecins: 1,776 cases of suspected COVID-19 per 10,000 cases in week 14 (2,182 in week 13)

  • LABM (3 labs): 13% positive test results in week 14 (10% in week 13)

Surveillance in long-term care facilities, including nursing homes

  • 1,591 cases (possible or confirmed), including 78 deaths reported as of April 9, 2020

Hospital surveillance

  • Oscour® Network: 1,533 emergency room visits for suspected COVID-19 per 10,000 visits in week 14 (1,808 in week 13)

  • Hospital laboratories: 17.4% of tests positive in week 14 (23.1% in week 13)

  • SI VIC data: 694 people hospitalized for COVID-19 (including 176 in intensive care) as of April 7

  • Sentinel intensive care units: among the 185 reported cases, 57% were aged 65 and older, and 57% had at least one risk factor

Mortality surveillance

  • No excess mortality observed in the region through week 13 (N-2)
