Key Points

COVID-19

In Week 6, incidence, testing, and positivity rates have decreased compared to the previous week. However, viral circulation remains very high.

Bronchiolitis

  • End of the Epidemic

  • Emergency departments: One visit for bronchiolitis was recorded in emergency departments in Week 6, representing 1.7% of all emergency department visits by children under 2 years of age, stable compared to the previous week (1.7%). One hospitalization was reported in Week 6 (as in the previous week).

  • SOS Médecins: 7 consultations for bronchiolitis were conducted by SOS Médecins in Week 6, representing 8.8% of all consultations for children under 2 years of age. Activity is increasing compared to the previous week, but case numbers remain very low.

Acute Gastroenteritis

  • Low activity.

  • Emergency departments - Emergency department activity related to gastroenteritis in Week 6 is down compared to the previous week. It accounts for 0.8% of emergency department activity (2.7% the previous week).

  • SOS Médecins - Activity at the SOS Médecins association related to gastroenteritis in Week 6 is decreasing compared to the previous week. It accounts for 0.8% of the association’s total activity (1.5% the previous week).

  • Sentinelles Network - In Week 6, the incidence rate was 83 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [14; 152]). In Week 5, the incidence rate was 84 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [25; 143]).

Influenza

  • Pre-epidemic phase since week 2022-S04.

  • Emergency departments - Eleven visits related to influenza-like illness were recorded in emergency departments in Week 06, representing 0.7% of total emergency department visits, stable compared to the previous week (0.9%). Four hospitalizations were also recorded in Week 06, as in the previous week.

  • SOS Médecins - One hundred seventy consultations for influenza-like illness were conducted by SOS Médecins in week S06, representing 12.2% of total activity, a slight increase compared to the previous week (10.5%).

  • Sentinelles Network - In Week 06, the incidence rate for influenza-like illness, not yet finalized, is 71 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [9; 133]). In Week 5, this rate was 96 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [31; 161]).

  • Surveillance of influenza/COVID-19 cases admitted to intensive care - Since January 2020, 152 severe cases of influenza/COVID-19 in intensive care have been reported, including 1 case of influenza, reported by Bastia University Hospital since the last update.
