New Perspectives on People with Disabilities Who Require Care.

Due to a lack of time and resources, people with disabilities who require care generally do not receive the care, attention, or support they need. According to Élisabeth Zucman, there is a need to better train, inform, and support both healthcare providers and family or professional caregivers who work with these individuals. Do not rush them, do not let yourself be overwhelmed by dehumanizing actions, and ensure a sense of “living together” to prevent one person from becoming subservient to another. These are some of the conditions that must be met to, as the philosopher Emmanuel Lévinas emphasized, offer every person the guarantee of their own freedom, alongside that of others.
