Support young people and, if necessary, help them access therapy.

Interview with Jean-Pierre Couteron, a clinical psychologist at a "youth counseling center" at the Center for Addiction Treatment, Support, and Prevention in Mantes-la-Jolie (Yvelines) and president of ANITeA/F3A. As a clinical psychologist, Jean-Pierre Couteron sees adolescents and young adults—primarily cannabis users—in consultation as part of the national “youth consultation” program. He emphasizes the need for dual support—addressing both the individual and their substance use behavior—as well as the importance of involving the family environment, particularly parents, and, if necessary, through family therapy. He highlights the value of this program, which serves a significant number of adolescents in serious distress and at risk of social breakdown, as well as “casual users.”
