Survival Rates for People with Cancer in Metropolitan France, 1989–2018 - Ovarian Cancer

In France, for the year 2018, the estimated number of new cases of ovarian cancer was 5,193, and the estimated number of deaths from ovarian cancer was 3,479. Key points: 5-year age-standardized survival rate of 43% for cases diagnosed in 2010–2015; 14-percentage-point improvement in the 5-year age-standardized survival rate over 25 years (from 33% in 1990 to 47% in 2015); Improvement in 1-year net survival among women aged 70 and 80, but little progress in 5-year survival from 1990 to 2015; Improvement in 5-year net survival among women aged 50 and 60 (+15 to 19 percentage points from 1990 to 2015); Little change in 10-year net survival: less than an 8 percentage point increase between 1990 and 2010 across all age groups; After 5 years of follow-up, the excess mortality rate is low for all age groups.
