Health Monitoring in the Occitanie Region. Update as of April 7, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
Overall, in week 13 of 2022, virological indicators continued to rise in most departments of Occitanie. Overall, trends in incidence and testing rates should be interpreted with caution in the coming weeks, due to the increasingly frequent use of self-tests, which are not included in SI-DEP indicators unless confirmed by an antigen test or RT-PCR.
Influenza
The region has been in an epidemic phase for 16 weeks. Following an initial wave in late December followed by a high plateau, indicators have shown an increase in viral circulation in the region and in 10 out of 13 departments over the past three weeks.
Acute gastroenteritis
Oscour® Network: Gastroenteritis activity was moderate in week 13 of 2022. The number of visits across all age groups for a diagnosis of gastroenteritis continued to decline compared to the previous week among children under 5 years of age. In week 13 of 2022, 509 visits for gastroenteritis were recorded (including 301 for patients under 5 years of age), representing 1.7% of all visits (compared to 530 visits in week 12 of 2022, including 329 for children under 5).
SOS Médecins Network: Gastroenteritis activity was low in week 13 of 2022. Procedures for all ages related to a diagnosis of gastroenteritis were generally stable compared to the previous week. In week 13 of 2022, 125 procedures for this diagnosis were recorded (including 26 for children under 5 years of age), representing 5.3% of the overall activity of the SOS Médecins associations (131 procedures in week 12).
