thematic dossier

Cancers

Les cancers représentent en France la première cause de décès chez l’homme et la deuxième chez la femme. Santé Publique France copilote la surveillance épidémiologique et participe à leur prévention.

Since 2005, when the first edition was published, the Cancer Barometers have provided valuable insights into the opinions, knowledge, and habits of the French public regarding cancer and prevention. They thus help to combat the disease more effectively and improve screening and care for those affected.

Who will be surveyed?

People are contacted via randomly dialed phone numbers and invited to complete a questionnaire that takes an average of 30 minutes. Only one person per household is interviewed.

To ensure that the data collected best reflects the perceptions and habits of the entire population, it is very important that every selected person agrees to participate. All age groups, all regions, and all living situations are included.

Santé publique France and the National Cancer Institute thank all those contacted as part of this survey for their cooperation and the time they agree to devote to the interviewers. The data obtained will be invaluable for cancer research and prevention.

The initial results of this study will be released in late 2021.
