COVID-19

In S16, SARS-CoV-2 viral circulation remains at epidemic levels throughout the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, but all virological indicators are declining: the holiday-adjusted incidence rate has dropped by 28% to 928 per 100,000 inhabitants, and the positivity rate has fallen by 1.5 percentage points to 32.5%. Incidence is decreasing across all age groups, particularly among the youngest. The departments in the western part of the region (Allier, Cantal, Puy-de-Dôme) and Drôme remain the hardest hit. In hospitals, indicators remain high, with trends generally trending downward except for the number of patients in critical care, which is rising significantly.

• Oscour® network: visits to emergency departments across all age groups in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes for a diagnosis of influenza/influenza-like illness continue to decline sharply. In Week 16, 549 emergency department visits for influenza/influenza-like illness were recorded (-45.5% compared to Week 15), representing 1.3% of all emergency department visits across all age groups (down from Week 15). Of these 549 visits, 72 were followed by hospitalization, representing a hospitalization rate of 13.1% for this diagnosis, higher than in Week 15. Hospitalizations for influenza/influenza-like illness accounted for 1.0% of all hospitalizations in Week 16, a slight decrease compared to the previous week.

• SOS Médecins: The number of procedures continued to decline in Week 16, with 580 procedures for influenza/influenza-like illness recorded (865 procedures in Week 15), representing a 9.2% share of activity (14.4% in Week 15). Indicators from the Sentinelles network also show a decline in the incidence rate of influenza-like illness cases seen in general practice in Week 16, with the rate falling from 196 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [130–262]) in Week 15 to 110 (95% CI [64–156]) in S16.
