  • Exposure to ticks in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

    • A region covered by large forest areas that provides ideal conditions for ticks, with the exception of very high-altitude mountain areas (the Alps) and along the Rhône Valley

  • Lyme disease

    • In 2022, the number of new cases estimated by the Sentinelles network in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes was approximately 7,400

    • The former Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes regions had some of the highest incidence rates in mainland France during the 2017–2022 period

  • Tick-borne encephalitis

    • 27 cases reported in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes between May 2021 and May 2023, including 25 locally acquired cases, making the region—and Haute-Savoie in particular—a major area of TBE circulation in France
