Health Monitoring in Brittany. Update as of April 27, 2021.
Key Points
COVID-19
Decrease in the incidence rate and stagnation in the positivity rate calculated from PCR and antigen tests. The incidence rate fell from 199 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 15 to 180.6 per 100,000 in Week 16. The positivity rate stabilized compared to Week 15, dropping from 7.6% to 7.4%. The proportion of suspected cases of the so-called British variant is 88% in Brittany, and that of the Brazilian or South African variants is 2.9%. Vaccination coverage has reached 25.5% for a single dose. As of April 27, 37 cases of the 20C/655Y variant had been confirmed in Brittany as part of a cluster initially linked to the Lannion Hospital. A cluster has been reported in Brest linked to the 20I/484K variant, which has recently begun circulating in France. The decline in incidence is due to both reduced testing and a lower positivity rate.
Bronchiolitis
Regional trend is declining. Epidemic activity is in the downward phase. Decrease in emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations.
Gastroenteritis
