Key Points
COVID-19
Decrease in the number of PCR tests, with 14,442 tests performed (-24.3% compared to Week 52, unconsolidated data), and in the number of antigen tests, with 12,327 antigen tests performed (-30.6% compared to Week 52, unconsolidated data).
A very sharp decline in the incidence rate (IR) is observed alongside a sharp decline in the testing rate (TR) and the positivity rate (PR). The regional (gross) IR fell from 250.9 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 52 to 125.4 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 01. The (unadjusted) departmental incidence rate has decreased in all four departments: Côtes d’Armor (incidence rate at 131, down 115 points), Finistère (incidence rate at 125, down 164 points), Ille-et-Vilaine (incidence rate at 104, down 115 points), Morbihan (TI at 141, -103 points). The decline in the TI is observed across all age groups.
The positivity rate fell from 26.5% in S52 to 17.4% in S01.
Omicron has accounted for over 99% of cases since S05/2022, according to data from flash surveys. Sequencing data from the flash survey conducted in S50 in Brittany, although not representative of viral circulation, identified the BA.5 lineage in 95% of cases. The BA.2 lineage accounted for 4% of sequences, and 1% were recombinants. The BQ.1.1 sublineage accounted for 70% of interpretable sequences.
