Health Monitoring in Brittany. Update as of January 22, 2021.

Key Points

COVID-19

In Week 02, the incidence rate rose from 85.8 to 96.5 per 100,000 inhabitants, with the positivity rate also increasing from 3.7% to 4.3%. This increase is smaller than the previous week but reflects two trends: a continued rise in Ille-et-Vilaine and Morbihan, and a decline in Côtes d’Armor and Finistère. For those up to age 50, the trend is roughly similar across the entire region, although levels are higher in Ille-et-Vilaine and Morbihan. Among those over 50, only these last two departments have seen sharp increases in their incidence and positivity rates.

3 cases representing 5 confirmed cases of the UK variant since the start of surveillance.

All-cause mortality

The number of deaths across all age groups and among those aged 65 and older is below the thresholds in S53 and S01 (S01 subject to data consolidation, as the data is not yet complete).

Winter epidemics

  • Bronchiolitis: low activity, outside the epidemic phase

  • Influenza: low activity, outside the epidemic phase

  • Gastroenteritis: low activity, general upward trend in SOS Médecins indicators
