Health Monitoring in Brittany. Update as of June 29, 2021.

Key Points

COVID-19

Stabilization of the incidence rate and positivity rate calculated from PCR and antigen tests. The incidence rate fell from 15.8 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 24 to 15.2 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 25. The positivity rate has stabilized at 0.8% in week 25. These indicators are declining across all age groups (except in Finistère, where positivity rates among those aged 10–19 and 20–34 are rising very slightly) and departments (except for Ille-et-Vilaine, which remains stable). The proportion of suspected Alpha variant cases remains the majority, but several L452R cases, suggesting the presence of the Delta variant, have been identified in Brittany in connection with returns from travel abroad (Spain, Portugal, Croatia, United Arab Emirates). Vaccination coverage stands at 56.4% for a single dose and 34.5% for a full course.

Heat-related illnesses

Brittany has been on green alert since the start of surveillance. In Brittany, a decrease in emergency room and SOS Médecin indicators has been observed, consistent with the drop in temperatures seen over the past few days.
