Key Points
Bronchiolitis: low activity, outside the epidemic season.
Gastroenteritis: low activity in emergency departments and in line with previous years for SOS Médecins. Circulation of Norovirus and Adenovirus in the region.
COVID-19: As of October 7, 2020, more than 15,500 cases have been diagnosed by RT-PCR since the start of the epidemic in Brittany. The number of current hospitalizations is stable compared to the previous week. The majority of people currently hospitalized are in the 80–89 age group. The number of new hospitalizations for COVID-19 decreased by 32.1% in week 40 compared to week 39 (subject to data consolidation). However, the number of new intensive care admissions remained stable between weeks 39 and 40 in Brittany. The positivity rate is increasing in parallel with changes in testing strategies (a decrease in the number of tests performed).
Asthma: activity remains high across all age groups except for those aged 75 and older, and is in line with the average of previous years for this period.
Bronchitis: activity is below the averages of previous years for this period and has remained generally stable over the past two weeks.
