Surveillance of occupational diseases in the Grand Est region: results for the first half of 2024
Occupational diseases (MCP) are defined as any conditions or symptoms that may be caused or exacerbated by work and that are not recognized as occupational diseases (or work-related injuries) at the time of the examination. The OW program is implemented by Santé publique France in collaboration with the Occupational Health Inspection Unit of the Regional Directorate for the Economy, Employment, Labor, and Solidarity (DREETS) Grand Est and the Regional Health Observatory (ORS) Grand Est. It relies on a network of volunteer occupational physicians and their teams who, over two consecutive weeks known as “MCP Fortnights,” report all cases of MCP observed during consultations, as well as the socio-professional characteristics of all employees seen, on a confidential basis. In 2024, 4,746 employees were seen during the MCP Fortnights in the Grand Est region.
