Epidemiological Situation of Dengue Fever in French Guiana. Update as of April 16, 2020.

Epidemiological Summary

The epidemic situation continues in the Maroni sector (from Apatou to Maripasoula).
Dengue transmission has intensified in the Kourou sector (from Macouria to Iracoubo) over the past few weeks, leading the Committee on Infectious and Emerging Diseases (CMIE) to approve, on April 14, the proposal to move this sector to Phase 4 of the Psage dengue*: “epidemic.”

The continued spread of dengue in the western coastal sectors (Saint Laurent, Mana, Javouhey, Awala) and on the island of Cayenne (Cayenne, Rémire, Matoury) has also led the CMIE to approve the proposal to move these two sectors to Phase 3: “pre-epidemic.”

In the rest of the territory, the situation remains calm and continues to correspond to Phase 1 of the dengue Psage*: “sporadic cases.”
