Data on emergency room visits from the Oscour® network
A steady increase in 2021 in the number of visits for mental health issues among young adults (ages 18–25) and those over 65.
Among children, there was an increase in the average number of visits for mental health issues in 2021 compared to 2018 and 2019 (+16%), particularly among young adolescents (ages 11–14).
Increase in emergency department visits for suicidal acts among 11- to 17-year-olds (+18% compared to previous years)
Data on medical procedures from the SOS Médecins associations
Further increase in procedures for anxiety (+9%) and depressive states (+52%) among adults in 2021, compared to 2020.
Analysis of the last two months (October–November)
Recent downward trend in the number of emergency room visits for mental health issues among adults, while among those under 18, this number remains stable at a high level.
Increase in emergency room visits for suicidal acts, suicidal ideation, and mood disorders among 11- to 17-year-olds in October and November.
Decrease in the average monthly number of SOS Médecins calls for anxiety and depressive states.
Significant increase in the frequency of sleep disorders reported in the CoviPrev survey.
