A descriptive epidemiological survey was conducted annually from 1991 to 1996 on the smoking habits of 27,267 high school and middle school students in Paris... During this period, there was a doubling of the proportion of former smokers, a decrease in the average number of cigarettes smoked, and the fact that more than 6 out of 10 smokers reported wanting to quit...
