Health Monitoring in the Normandy Region. Update as of June 11, 2021.

Key Points

COVID-19

  • In Week 22, in Normandy, epidemiological indicators continued to decline, with some reaching their lowest levels since late summer 2020, before the start of the second wave of the pandemic. Pressure on hospital capacity is also easing, following the same trend.

  • The incidence rate decreased by 32% between weeks S21 and S22. An adjusted incidence rate, accounting for the impact of holidays, is presented on page 6, showing a 42% decrease between weeks S21 and S22.

  • All departments saw their crude incidence rates and rates by age group decrease. Positivity rates are all at or below the 5% threshold.

  • As health restrictions are gradually lifted, it remains important to adhere to individual prevention measures, testing, and the isolation of cases and contacts. Vaccinating eligible individuals who have not yet been vaccinated is also a major priority for consolidating this positive trend.
