Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, July 12, 2021

Key Points

  • Starting in week 20, the number of deaths from all causes returned to the usual range of fluctuation at the national level and in all regions.

  • An excess of deaths continued to be observed through week 24 among people aged 65–84, while the number of deaths returned to within the usual range of variation among people aged 15–64 starting in week 21 and among those aged 85 and older between weeks 19 and 24. A slight under-mortality was noted in this latter age group during weeks 25 and 26.

These trends remain to be confirmed as the data is consolidated.
