In week 44 (October 28–November 3), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children under 2 years of age (+8%, or 522 more visits) and decreased significantly among children aged 2–14, in line with the second week of school vacation. Total activity increased among adults (+7%, or 3,755 more visits).

Over the past week, there was an increase in cases for:

• Respiratory conditions:

  • bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age (+31%, or +99 cases). One week after the outbreak was declared an epidemic, there has been a moderate increase in epidemiological indicators in most regions and a continuation of the epidemic in the French West Indies and the Île-de-France region;

  • pneumonia (+16%, or 98 additional cases), influenza/flu-like illness (+13%, or 80 additional cases), acute bronchitis (+11%, or +313 cases), upper respiratory tract conditions (+7%, or +746 cases) in adults, and asthma in children under 2 years of age and those aged 75 or older (+28% and +41%, or +26 and +26 cases, respectively);

• Conjunctivitis in children under 2 years of age (+9%, or +19 visits) and adults (+28%, or +78 visits) over the past 6 weeks;

• Non-specific conditions: isolated fever in children and those aged 15–74 (+9% and +27%, or +50 and +64 procedures, respectively).

Among the most common conditions, there was an increase in procedures for dental conditions in children aged 2–14 and those aged 15–74 (+24%, or +300 procedures), urinary tract infections in adults (+23%, or +524 visits), and deterioration in general health among those aged 75 and older (+18%, or +55 visits).
