The Act of March 4, 2002, supplemented by other laws and regulations, established the principle of mandatory reporting of serious healthcare-related incidents. The implementation of such a system is contingent upon a pilot phase, which is itself about to be launched; the preparations, procedures, objectives, and other details of this phase require clarification.
