Survival Rates for People with Cancer in Metropolitan France, 1989–2018 - Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

In France, the estimated number of new cases of Hodgkin lymphoma in 2018 was 2,127, including 1,240 cases in men and 887 cases in women. Key points: A favorable prognosis, with a 5-year standardized net survival rate of 87% for individuals diagnosed between 2010 and 2015; Higher 5-year age-standardized net survival among women aged 40 and older, with the difference increasing with age; Significant disparity by age: 5-year net survival of 98% for those aged 20 at diagnosis and 48% for those aged 80; Improvement in net survival between 1990 and 2015 for individuals over 60; relative stagnation for younger individuals; Excess mortality virtually zero for the youngest individuals as early as the first year of follow-up.
