Survey: "Long COVID – Post-COVID-19 Conditions, Metropolitan France," September–November 2022, Preliminary Results
Key points
The prevalence of post-COVID-19 condition (WHO definition) is estimated at 4% in the general adult population.
2.06 million people over the age of 18 in France had a post-COVID-19 condition at the time of the study.
1.2% of respondents reported a strong or very strong impact on their daily activities.
48% reported having been infected with SARS-CoV-2 at least 3 months ago.
7.1% of participants reported having had “long COVID” (reported long COVID).
Among those reporting having been infected at least three months ago:
8% met the criteria for a post-COVID-19 condition according to the WHO definition.
The prevalence of the condition was twice as high among women (10.2%) as among men (5.3%).
31% had had a post-COVID-19 condition for more than one year.
21.3% were infected during the wave of circulation of the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant, and 53.2% during the waves of circulation of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants.
