Key Points

Acute Gastroenteritis (AG)

  • Increase in the number of rotavirus A-positive samples in week 36, with a positivity
    rate of 9.4%;
  • 16 visits to the CHM emergency department for AGE were recorded in week 36, including 4 subsequent hospitalizations;
  • Acute rotavirus A gastroenteritis has entered the epidemic phase.

Malaria

  • 6 new imported cases of malaria were reported in week 36;
  • 98 cases have been hospitalized, including 10 severe cases, since the beginning of the year;
  • Since the beginning of 2026, 349 cases of malaria have been recorded, including 76 locally acquired
    cases and 245 imported cases, mostly from the Comoros.

Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI)

  • Influenza: Influenza A(H1) virus has been circulating since week 30. Six positive test results were reported in week 36;
  • Bronchiolitis: an increase in emergency department visits for bronchiolitis among children under 2 years
    of age at the CHM, with 5 emergency department visits in week 36.
