Heat Wave and Health Alert System in Burgundy and Franche-Comté. Update as of June 24, 2017.
Key Points
This morning, Météo France issued a green alert for the region’s eight departments
Since the start of the heat wave: an increase in heat-related illnesses (PLC) in both the OSCOUR® and SOS Médecins networks, equivalent to that seen during the July 2015 heat wave.
For yesterday:
Due to a computer error, 3,647 emergency room visits were reported to the Cire for the four departments of Franche-Comté as of June 23, 2017, whereas they had fluctuated between 758 and 924 over the previous seven days:
- Cire contacted the Trevenans emergency department in the Territoire-de-Belfort (90), which confirmed that there were not 1,514 visits yesterday, but 220 (150 to 203 visits over the previous 7 days).
- La Cire is therefore unable to provide activity figures for the region’s emergency departments for yesterday.
There were 20 SOS Médecins consultations for heat-related conditions; these consultations primarily involved people aged 75 and older.
