COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Grand Est Region, July 22, 2021

Key Points

In the Grand Est region, the number of new cases in week 28 of 2021 rose sharply, with 158,153 people tested in week 28 (compared to 163,969 in week 27 of 2021). Consequently, the incidence rate rose to 46.1 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants but remained below the threshold for active virus circulation (set at 50 per 100,000 inhabitants). The positivity rate also rose sharply (1.6% compared to 0.8% in week 27 of 2021).
