French West Indies and French Guiana: The Carambole Program Takes on Obesity.

Educating children to reduce obesity is the goal of the Carambole interregional program, which has been piloted for three years in the French West Indies and French Guiana. This health promotion program emphasizes a community-based approach. Educational sessions for children aged 3 to 15 are integrated into the school curriculum. To create a supportive environment, schools participating in the program are expanding access to water, fruits, and vegetables, as well as facilities for physical activity. Anthropometric measurements of the students will be used to evaluate the program’s results.
