Epidemiological Situation of Dengue Fever in French Guiana. Update as of February 20, 2020.

Epidemiological Summary

The spread of dengue fever has intensified in Kourou and Maripasoula since mid-January. This trend will need to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
The Management Committee, meeting on January 28, approved the transition to Phase 2 (“epidemic outbreaks”) for the Maroni sector, as proposed by the Committee on Infectious and Emerging Diseases in late December 2019.
The epidemiological situation in the Kourou and Maroni sectors remains at Phase 2 of the Psage* dengue protocol: Epidemic outbreaks.

In the rest of the territory, the situation has remained calm and continues to correspond to Phase 1 of the Psage* dengue plan: Sporadic cases. Serotype 3 has been identified in Cayenne.
